I feel like personally being against immigration is unfair. Many people attempt to come to this country for a better lead on life and they feel like they could have a much better life here than in the country they were born in. To immigrants, they see America and see all the benefits that we have that the country they live in doesn't. For example, in countries such as Afgahanistan, they are not allowed to dance, listen to music, watch movies or drink alcohol while here, we are allowed to do all that stuff. Countries with such restrictions hear about the freedom that America has and then tries to immigrate to our country.
On January 1st, 2009, Legal Permident Resident Population, a goverment site that counts how many people living in America are legally registed, meaning the number of people with things called "Green Cards" the website said that 12.5 Million were legal in this country when Americas estimated population is 310,910,744 according to the U.S Census Bureau. The difference is 12,189,090 which is kind of alot if you really think about it.
In today's times, many people are trying to fight immigration in anyway possible. One of the newest ways that immigration is trying to be faught is by building a wall at the border of Mexico in Arazona to keep immigrants from Mexico out.
On June 4th, 2010, thousands gathered in Arizona state capital building to support the Arizona immigration law. The Arizona immigration law is apperently so popular, it has gotten its own website.
People may think that immigration is wrong just because they aren't from our country. But according to the Declaration of Independance, that isn't the case. The Declaration of Independance states that "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal" Even though our Declaration of Independance states that we are in fact all equal, some people still won't accept it simply because they don't want to and they feel that their hate for a certain race or ethnicity.
Therefore, immigration is wrong and we are all equal to each other. Some people think that just because we look a little different from each other we aren't different. Some people, sadly more than most people, feel that just because they color of our skin, or just because we were born in a different part of the world, or even just because English isn't our first language that we aren't the same person. But truth is, we are all the same on the inside.
